Venturing in the Massanutten District
			Venturing is a coed program for youth 14-21 years old. Although Venturing has its own system of advancement, boys who are members of both a Venture Crew and a Scout Troop can continue to work toward Eagle. Venturing is very much like Scouting, but at an advanced level. The Venturing Handbook and requirements are written at a 1st year college level. It is mostly an outdoor program based on skills and challenging adventure. Venture Crews work closely with Scout Troops, and Crew members help with skills training and leadership in those Troops. Venturing advancement, like Scouting is based on the three basic aims: Citizenship, Character Development, and Fitness. The first rank is the Bronze award, then Gold and Silver. The highest award in Venturing is called the "Ranger Award".
